The Gen4 rod building varnish is available in both Low-Build and High-Build variants and sets new standards in usability and performance through XAR and the “TRU-BLU Measure and Mix Technology.” With the so-called eXtreme Air Release Protocol (XAR), potential bubble formation is largely suppressed.
Low Build: Lower viscosity and thus thinner during processing. Perfectly suitable for applying as thin layers of varnish as possible.
The Gen4 varnishes stand for the most advanced standards and provide the rod builder with optimal application properties when varnishing through the use of the latest technologies.
XAR stands for “eXtreme Air Release” and as a new technology largely prevents bubble formation during varnishing. This behavior is already evident when mixing the two components. Additionally, the pot life has been extended by about 12 minutes to allow more time for the release of possible air bubbles. Slow and intensive mixing of the components is required to achieve an optimal varnishing result.
TruBlu Measure & Mix is added as an additive to component A (resin), allowing the two components to be easily distinguished by color and preventing confusion. Additionally, it serves as an optical indicator and indicates exactly when the mixing process is complete by the disappearance of the blue tone.
Processing:
- Mixing ratio 1:1 (volume proportions)
- Pot life 30 minutes at room temperature (approx. 20°C)
- Re-coating 4 hours at room temperature (approx. 20°C)
- Rotation time 3 hours at room temperature (approx. 20°C)
- Dust dry 10 hours at room temperature (approx. 20°C)
- The varnish is “ready to use” after about 24-48 hours
For an optimal result, at least 3ml of each component should be slowly and thoroughly mixed together for at least 3 minutes until the mixture is completely clear. The blue tone or possible streaks must completely disappear. Pour the mixture for processing into a flat, absolutely clean container so that XAR can release all remaining bubbles. The varnished object should rotate for at least 3 hours.
Safety Information GHS
Warning: Causes serious eye damage, skin irritation, respiratory irritation, and may cause allergic reactions. Harmful to health if swallowed. Toxic to aquatic organisms with long-lasting effects. When using, be sure to wear protective gloves and eye, mouth, and nose protection. Keep out of reach of children!
In case of skin contact: Wash with plenty of water and soap. In case of contact with eyes: Rinse gently with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and possible. Continue rinsing. After swallowing: Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting. Consult a doctor.
